Colon Aid 700

Overview

A lot of media focus has been on the rise of colon cancer in North America and this is reflected in the number of colon cleansing products now available.

Colon Aid 700 is one such product and is actually the same product as Colon Med 700, simply under a new name. The Colon Aid 700 website is not particularly informative being only one basic page of information. It does have a video presentation from CBS News, which discusses the dangers and prevention of colon disease, although Colon Aid 700 is not mentioned during the clip.

The manufacturers include a brief explanation of how colon cleansing may help rid the body of between ‘8-10 undigested meals’ that are in the digestive tract and how by doing this can help the user lose weight, have more energy and less bloating. Although there is no FAQ section on the site, it does include three brief testimonials that are accompanied by photos. However, only one of these testimonials actually mentions the brand, the other two being very ambiguous.

One of the main features of the Colon Aid 700 website is the free trial offer which is for two bottles of the product and designed to last one month. As it states in the small print though, the trial offer is only good for 15 days from the date of shipping and if not cancelled in this time, the customer will be enrolled into the auto-shipping program. Fifteen days is certainly not adequate time to receive and test the product and, as past consumers have attested, the auto-shipping program can be very hard to cancel.

The Product

Unfortunately there is no section on the official Colon Aid 700 site that lists or explains the ingredients in the formula. The full list can be found on an independent site which shows that it contains a proprietary blend of all natural ingredients. Standard colon cleansing substances such as Psyllium Husk, a bulking agent and stool softener, and Cascara Sagrada, a laxative are combined with digestive aids like ginger, fennel, rhubarb and licorice. Buckthorn is used also for its blood purifying benefits and Goldenseal helps boost the immune system.

No dosage instructions are given nor is there any advice regarding the length of time the product should be taken before seeing results. Most formulas that contain Cascara Sagrada usually include a warning about the potential dangers of long term usage, but no such warning is given here.

The Good

  • The website includes a video presentation
  • The product contains no color or preservatives
  • Colon cleansing may help prevent colon disease
  • The free trial includes a Colon Health guide
  • Consumers may lose weight through elimination of excess waste
  • The website includes customer testimonials
  • An independent site lists Colon Aid 700’s ingredients

The Bad

  • The official Colon Aid 700 site does not list ingredients
  • The free trial is only good for 15 days
  • The media reports mentioned on the site are not endorsing Colon Aid 700
  • No FAQ section is featured
  • Colon Aid 700 is the same product as Colon Med 700
  • There are numerous complaints filed against the company
  • Colon Aid 700 is expensive, costing $88.97 per month
  • No warning regarding Cascara Sagrada is given
  • No clinical trials have been performed on the product

The Bottom Line

It is usually a bad sign when a company changes the name of their product, especially when there have been so many complaints reported. There is nothing about Colon Aid 700 that makes it superior to any other colon cleansing brand currently on the market and the company makes no effort to give full details about the product.

As with many dubious products of this kind, the manufacturers of Colon Aid 700 are simply taking advantage of the rise in colon disease despite the fact that there is no evidence that cleansers of this type actually work.
