Detox 7
Overview
Detox 7 is an ‘Internal Cleanser’ made by the company Northwest Natural Products. They produce a number of health care products and seem to have quite a good reputation in the industry. The Detox 7, as the name suggests, is intended to cleanse the system in one week. It makes no claims regarding weight loss, though with such a product, the user would be expected to lose some weight, even if it is simply water.
One aspect of this company that might attract consumers is that it claims to be environmentally friendly. It uses green power and a ‘green lights program’ though exactly what this entails is not fully explained. The company website is very attractive, using modern graphics, and is very easy to navigate.
The Product
Detox 7 is one of the simpler products of its kind. It is a two step program consisting of pre-measured fiber packets and detox caplets. The fiber packets contain a mix of herbal fibers which are to be taken once a day mixed with 4oz of water (preferably purified). The caplets are made of gelatin (therefore not suitable for vegetarians) and contain ‘beneficial herbs’. Unfortunately this is all the information the consumer is told on the company website. It is possible through other sources to find out which ingredients are in the product but it would make more sense if the company made the information available itself. The fiber mix is a blend of mainly probiotics (the ‘good’ bacteria), prune powder, spirulina and wheat grass. The spirulina and wheat grass are both very popular right now in health circles, though the company doesn’t use this fact to sell their product. The capsules contain gingko biloba, licorice, ginger and turmeric which are all powerful immune system boosters.
The Good

- It doesn’t contain any of the harsher ingredients used in some products, such as cascara sagrada.
- The product is extremely easy to use.
- The product is affordable
- It can be ordered both directly from the company and in stores.
- The company is somewhat more environmentally friendly than others.
The Bad
- Some uses complained that the fiber mix had a strange taste.
- The company does not list the ingredients on its website. The user would have to do independent research.
- The company requires that the consumer e-mail any questions rather than offering an online Q @ A.
- The product has mixed reviews on certain ‘detox’ product review websites.
The Bottom Line
This product is a relatively gentle way to cleanse the body, using all natural ingredients, but the user should not take it expecting any great weight loss. The product is not expensive, costing approximately $9.99 for a 7 day supply, so it would certainly be worth trying.
It is nice that Northwest Natural Products is making an attempt at using ‘greener’ sources of energy and this is one fact that makes it worth choosing over another similar product.
