Body Cleansing Detoxification – Important Facts

By - Updated Dec 26, 2018

Natural health experts often stress the importance of ensuring our bodies are free of the many chemicals that end up in our bodies in the form of additives or toxins that persist in our digestive or respiratory tracts from living in polluted areas, as well as drinking faucet water infused with heavy metals. In addition, some people claim that the simple process of metabolizing any type of food creates residual layers of pathogens or chemicals in our gut. Natural health practitioners often advocate the use of body cleansing detoxification methods to flush these residuals out of our bodies and thus lower the risk of cancer while promoting overall longevity.

Body Cleansing Detoxification

These body cleansing detoxification methods often include colonic cleansing treatments that are offered in a variety of formats. Most commonly, people may purchase supplements in pill or powdered form that flush the body out with complex mixtures of various herbs and natural components that range from flax seeds to thyme oil and psyllium. These best colonic cleansing mixtures are designed to utilize antioxidants, natural diuretics, and other active natural ingredients to push these toxins right through the body. Such supplements are gaining in popularity, and they allegedly cure everything from diarrhea to bloating.

Another effective method of body cleansing detoxification is through actual colon irrigation and colonic irrigation that is performed by a trained therapist within a clinic. These types of treatments should be undertaken with a doctor’s supervision, as it is not recommended for certain people to undergo. However, this is the most direct way to cleanse the gut, as a hose is inserted into the rectum, and the bowels are directly cleansed with various types of herbal infusions and other natural cleansing properties. For men, this may also lead to enhanced prostate health, and overall it is said to help purify the body of toxins.

It should be noted that there is no verifiable scientific data that our colons contain residual layers of pathogens or toxins. However, there are plenty of reports that these treatments correct a variety of symptoms, and so the exact reason why these treatments work is uncertain in most medical literature. Regardless of how colonic treatment works, before beginning any of these types of therapies, it’s important to consult with a doctor, especially before exposure to new substances. Print out the list of ingredients, and show them to an allergen before consumption in order to guarantee safety before undergoing such a therapy.
