Colon Cleanse Scam – Product Types to Avoid

By - Updated Oct 20, 2014

There is a reason that colon cleansing is met with skepticism by many when it is mentioned, including those in the medical establishment. While if followed properly, colon cleansing can be a safe and reliable method of keeping the body operating at its peak, there have been a series of colon cleanse scam products or misinformation out there that has given it a bad name. To protect yourself against those who would push a colon cleanse scam on you, it’s a good idea to learn a little bit more about the colon cleansing process in general.

Colon Cleanse ScamThere are three primary methods that are used for cleansing the colon. These include dietary changes, herbal supplements and laxatives, or colon hydrotherapy or irrigation. Some may choose to combine all three for the most thorough cleansing. The hype about a potential colon cleanse scam tends to arise mainly with the second category. As with any herbal supplement, these colon cleansing products oftentimes are not evaluated by any government agency, so their claims need to be taken with a grain of salt. Many of these actually contain the same ingredient, which could be effective and not a colon cleanse scam, as long as the instructions are followed.

One of the primary reasons why people may think they have fallen prey to a colon cleanse scam is that some of the marketing efforts around colon cleansing are full of language that exaggerates what a colon cleanse can actually do. If you expect to lose 20 pounds within the first week, and only drop 4, for example, that could lead you to believe to believe that you are the victim of a colon cleanse scam. However, the product could actually not be a colon cleanse scam at all, depending on how much waste you actually have built up in your system, and what your metabolism level is.

Because everyone has a different physiology, not all colon cleansing products are going to work the same for everyone. That means that one product that works well for your neighbor may do nothing for you, but this doesn’t necessarily make it a scam. To avoid disappointment, it’s always a good idea to combine your use of any colon cleansing products along with other factors such as dietary changes or fasting. That will end up giving you the positive results that you seek, without danger of having fallen prey to any colon cleanse scam.
