Consuming More Fiber Decreases The Mortality Rate With Colon Cancer

CHM

Have you ever thought about where the majority of our sicknesses and diseases comes from? We tend to point our fingers at the immune system because we are taught that if our immune system has been compromised, we get sick.

Most people do not realize that a lot of our suffering actually comes from the colon. Medical professionals have come to the conclusion that our body pains and health issues begin in the colon.
Fiber Mortality Colon Cancer

When there is an unwanted waste in the house, we have that natural tendency to dispose of it quickly, the human body works in the same way.

The food that we eat is quickly digested, the nutrients are separated and given to the body while the waste is quickly disposed of. if the waste is not disposed of quickly, it can become very toxic to the body.

Remember that the body absorbs the nutrients from the food that is eaten if you have a digestive system that is slow and sluggish, chances are, your body is also absorbing the toxic waste which will lead to cancer in the colon.

People who eat a high-fiber diet or increase their fiber intake after a colon cancer diagnosis may be less likely to die of these tumors than individuals who don’t consume much fiber, a recent study suggests.

“Eating more fiber after a colorectal cancer diagnosis is associated with a lower risk of dying from colorectal cancer,” This seems to be independent of the amount of fiber eaten before diagnosis,”

Adults diagnosed with colon cancer who completed diet surveys detailing how much fiber they ate. They followed half of the participants for at least 8 years. During that period, 773 people died, including 174 who died of colon and rectal tumors.

High fiber diets were associated with lower mortality. Compared to the lowest fiber intakes in the study, each additional five grams of fiber intake was associated with 22 percent lower odds of death from colorectal cancer during every day, as well as 14 percent lower mortality from all causes of death.

Changing the diet after the diagnosis to add more fiber was also linked to survival benefits. each additional five grams of fiber people added to their diets after a colorectal cancer diagnosis was associated with 18 percent lower odds of death from colorectal cancer during the study, as well as 14 percent lower mortality from all causes of death.

“It appears that cereal fiber and foods high in whole grains seem to be associated with the lowest risk of dying from colorectal cancer.”

each additional 5 grams a day of cereal fiber was linked to 33 percent lower odds of death from colorectal cancer and 22 percent lower odds of mortality from all causes, the study found.

The vegetable fiber wasn’t linked to a meaningful reduction in deaths from colon cancer, but each extra 5 grams a day was associated with 17 percent lower chances of death from all causes.

Fruit fibre, meanwhile, didn’t appear to lower death from cancer or other causes.

The study wasn’t a controlled experiment designed to prove whether or how fiber intake might influence the odds of death from colon cancer, researchers note.

risk factors

The most important risk factors for colorectal cancer are family history, personal history of polyps/cancer, certain diseases such as ulcerative colitis, and not getting screened.

“Lifestyle can also influence risk,” However, diet is only one component of lifestyle risk. Not smoking, being normal weight, and taking aspirin are all associated with lower colorectal cancer risk.

Even though diet is only one piece of the puzzle, it’s possible that fiber may have beneficial effects on metabolism that may protect against cancer. its not clear why patients who already have colorectal tumors would live longer by eating more fiber at that point.

The low down on colon cancer that it is very common throughout the whole world and it is also 3rd on the cancer list for causing death. The reason why colon cancer is ranked 3rd is that of all the fatty foods that we eat everyday. After all, this generation has grown up eating Big Macs and Whoppers.

Treat your colon good by providing a healthy dose of raw fiber in your diet. The way that you can do this is by eating fruits and veggies, it may seem hard at first because you have to change your eating habits,

Here Are Some Ways To Which You Can Add Raw Fiber To your Diet

Add Raw Fiber To your Diet

1. It’s all about the fruit. There are 3 ways in which you can enjoy fruit and they are; eat them as they are, put them in a blender to make a delicious smoothie or add them in a fruit juicer (if you do not want the skin).

2. Start eating salads more often. i am not talking about your ordinary salad with just the lettuce and dressing.
Use your imagination and be creative by adding healthy foods to your salads. Add eggs, avocados, bacon bits, fruits, croutons and even pizza. eating a salad is an effective tool in weight management and it will also control your hunger pains.

3. Eat snacks that contain nuts. You should never neglect nuts and seeds in your diet because they contain high amounts of protein, which is beneficial in re-building muscles after your workouts. They are also jammed packed with fiber that will help clean out your colon. Remember to eat nuts and seeds in moderation.

Eat whole grains

4. Eat whole grains. The reason for this is because the whole grain is loaded with nutrients and fibers that help combat heart disease and colon cancer.

Conclusion

Still, eating high fiber foods can lower the risk of getting colorectal cancer or tying from the tumours, noted Nour Makarem, a researcher at Columbia University in New York who wasn’t involved in the study.

“Therefore, consuming a healthy diet that is high in whole grain foods (e.g. brown rice, oatmeal, whole grain cereals or whole wheat bread) and other fiber sources such as fruits and vegetables may protect from colorectal cancer and also improves outcomes and reduces the risk of death among colorectal cancer survivors”.
