Body Detox – Get One Done for Yourself

By - Updated Oct 18, 2014

By taking recourse to a body detox, you will be able to eliminate the deadly toxins along with the bad bacteria and harmful parasites/worms that may have invaded your body. Once the body detox regimen is over, the entire lot of your physical organs should regain their original condition and resume their basic task of keeping you fit and healthy.

What Is Body Detox?

Body DetoxBody detox or detoxification is a process that aims at eliminating the deadly toxins, which may have invaded your physical system primarily through your diet, improper medication, or a polluted environment. Toxins can be produced and also multiply inside your body itself in the form of oxidized fats, cholesterol or through some abnormal health conditions such as a weak colon, indigestion, kidney and lever malfunction. Free radicals present in your body too can aggravate the toxicity factor.

If any of the organs – mainly the colon, kidney and the skin happen to malfunction, they will fail to do their assigned task of eliminating bulk of the unwanted wastes from the body. This results in accumulation of the bodily wastes in their respective areas warranting use of a body detox process to bring these organs back to a healthy state.

Colon – The Central Problem

Colon, being the most essential organ involved in the evacuation of the bodily wastes, becomes the focus of the whole action. As a matter of fact, it is an ailing colon that can very adversely affect the other organs. Not being able to expel the fecal wastes efficiently, it becomes a breeding ground for harmful parasites and bad bacteria, apart from adding more to the stock of toxins.

This dangerous lot circulates from the colon to other areas of the body through water, lymphatic fluid as also the bloodstream – and start harming other organs. It then becomes imperative to get a thorough clean up done through a good body detox plan or colon cleansing product.

How Is Body Detox Carried Out?

You can get your body detox done in stages. Colon should be the first organ to be detoxified followed by the kidney, and then the liver along with the gallbladder. You should also get a dental clean up done in case you have an infected tooth or cavity, which may lead to a possible build up of unfriendly bacteria.

While you may prefer to start your body detox with the kidney or the lever, the logic behind attending first to the colon is rather simple. The fact is when you detox another organ the toxin eliminated during the process has to leave the body via the colon and that too through the efforts of a well functioning colon. In case the colon still happens to be ailing badly, these toxins instead of being expelled through the rectum will revert back to the already detoxified organ or some other section of the body, thus presenting further risks to your health.

Body Detox Methods and Procedures

While a plethora of body detox plans and products are available in the market, natural methods involving lifestyle and diet changes are gaining more popularity. The basic lifestyle changes linked to an effective body detox entails eating of food derived preferably from natural sources – fresh fruits, steamed vegetables and lot of fibers and drinking of ample clean, noncarbonated water or fruit/vegetable juices. Some plans specifically advise complete fasting or a water/juice fasting accompanied with (or without) intake of herbal supplements.

Availability of the multitudes of products and plans notwithstanding, you will be better off to seek advice of your physician before you opt for the right body detox method. All the same, adhering to a sound lifestyle eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water will do you a lot of good in the long run.
